The suburb Blairgowrie developed as the suburb of Johannesburg expanded, in the north, during the gold rush of yesteryear to accommodate the newly established gold mine workers.Blairgowrie is slightly younger than Randburg yet it is obvious that the suburb did not follow long after this, making it a well-established suburb. It is a suburb of Randburg and is by affiliation also an up-market suburb with mixed use.
